    Description

    For sale is a 1796 Liberty Cap S-83, B-4, R-4 Large Cent Double Struck with Rotated Die Graded XF Details by PCGS.
    This impressive cent has considerable doubled detail on both sides, including two dates on the obverse. Although the surfaces exhibit slight roughness, the overall appearance is excellent, with sharp details on the olive-brown and mahogany surfaces. An important early mint error for the advanced collector.
    The S-83, B-4 is already a rare die marriage.  Couple that with the strong doubling and significantly rotated die and you have a very rare coin.  One may never again have the opportunity to purchase such a rarity.  PCGS Price Guide for a 1796 Liberty Cap in XF40 is ,000 and that doesn't take into consideration the strong doubling and rotation.
