This great example, standing 13 inches tall, and carved in the 1980’s, is the creation of Tyrone (Ty) Duwyenie, a very well-known and highly respected carver who has won First Place awards at the Heard Show in Phoenix as well as The Hopi Festival at the Museum of Northern Arizona. In addition to his art, he is also a noted Hopi musician, who has served on several Hopi rock bands. He has been carving for over 30 years, and is one of the most prolific carvers alive today.
