KOYEMSI the mud head clown Kachina is seen in all Kachina dances. When the other Kachina are not dancing, Koyemsi play games and act as clowns. Since the Koyemsi is considered very sacred, people never refuse him anything. To do so would bring bad luck. The mask and body of the mudhead are traditionally painted with a reddish brown clay, however, this rare mud head is made of white clay.
