    Description

A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1950 to pay tribute to railroad engineers. The stamps feature a picture of John Luther "Casey" Jones who lost his life in his cab during the early days of railroading near Vaughn Mississippi, his engine (#382) and what was a modern train locomotive in 1950.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office over 70 years ago!  Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone interested in train engineering and is a must have anyone who collects train memorabilia!
See my other auctions of a block featuring the B & O (Baltimore and Ohio) Railroad, the first transcontinental train and blocks of historical significance!
All stamps are Mint Never Hinged.
