Vintage Doll Mary White Thunder Native American Sioux beaded leather Toy Indian

Description

Vintage hand made doll of a female Native American with fringed suede clothes embellished with glass bead work. The hair is made from black yarn. The doll is hand made and stuffed. The stitching is tight. The eyes and mouth are beaded, as are all embellishments in the hair, on the moccasins, sleeves and belt.
It comes from the Taopi Cikala Crafts Co-operative on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation at Kyle, South Dakota. The artist is Mary White Thunder.
