VINTAGE & Numbered Colorful Kachina Doll "Warrior God" of HOPI Tribe, Signed by artist D. Adams 8-1/4"
As the Kachina dolls possess powers over nature, they are also seen as guardians of the Hopi Tribe.
They can insure human, plant, and animal fertility (everything living).
Carved from cottonwood root, each Kachina Doll resembles a supernatural spirit that is given to a child educating them about the ways of life.
This Kachina was made by Navajo/Hopi artist, D. Adams which stands for
Dolores Adams
; and it measures approximately: 8-1/4 inches (tall) x 4-1/2 inches (width)
Absolutely beautiful, hand carved and painted!
The bottom is signed by artist D. Adams - "Warrior God" and is numbered "#3" - see picture
The Hopi Tribe were the original Kachina Doll carvers,
using a single piece of cottonwood root

The paddle on the left hand in broken, otherwise in very good condition (see pictures for exact current condition).
