Description
Fresh from a local estate. Untouched, as found. One pink/white/black flying bird and pink/white evergreen trees design on each bowl. No cracks, chips, nor signs of repair. Sauce dish measures approximately 4 5/8 inches in diameter and cereal bowl measures approximately 6 1/4 inches. Some utensil use shows on both bowls' surfaces. Sauce bowl is photos #2-7, cereal bowl is photos #8-12. Notable yellowish/brown staining in 1-2 locations on outside of dish (photo #7). Underside of sauce bowl marked "SYRACUSE CHINA ECONO-RIM 2-R TRADE MARK PAT. PENDING". Sauce bowl also has a RR back stamp of "A" (photo #6). Cereal bowl marked"SYRACUSE CHINA ECONO-RIM 9- TRADE MARK PATENTED U.S.A.".
If there was a letter or number after the "9-" it is now not visible.
Underside of both bowls show 3 round equidistant indentation marks possibly from being fired in kiln -- These areas are a bit more rough on the cereal bowl than smooth as on the sauce dish. The 3 circular marks on the sauce bowl are whitish in color, the cereal bowl marks are more yellow/brown
(see photos #11 & 12 of cereal bowl)
. A tiny glazed-covered nub protrudes from the inside of the cereal bowl near the bottom (photo #9).
